Thomas J. Kent Jr. CEO and Chairman of Kent Global, LLC announced the launching of the Global 21st Century Foundation, a 501 C3, charitable organization, during a working lunch meeting at a notable private club in Manhattan’s Wall Street area on July 11, 2011.
Mr. Kent said, “We intend to make Global 21st Century Foundation a major philanthropic organization that focuses on emerging and developing economies around the world. The Foundation will address HIV/AIDS awareness, clean drinking water, feeding the hungry and sustainable development issues.”
The founder of the Global Foundation continued, “We have already established joint-venture relationships with several NGO’s and church groups in order to make an impact felt immediately. We intend to make the Foundation a major player in philanthropy.
"Latin America and Africa are of particular importance to the Foundation as we explore the feasibility of food distribution globally. We will endeavor to link with farmers around the world and address the logistics of making food drops in target areas around the world. In this context we can address hunger in places like Haiti, countries of West Africa, as well as deal with the emerging drought and famine crisis in East African countries."
The Global 21st Century Foundation is headquartered in New York City, and major fundraising events are being planned for the United States and Europe. The first fundraiser will be held later this year to kick-off a global project awareness initiative.
“I am very excited about the good work that the Foundation is undertaking,” Kent said, “I will work hard to make this one of the most influential philanthropic foundations in the world. “In conclusion,” Kent said “If anyone wants to help to make the world a better place along with us, we cordially invite your contribution.”
