Ann Arbor, MI (PRWEB) July 19, 2011
Ann Arbor-based hyperLOCAL Connections together with BuyLocalAnnArbor.com announces the availability of the Ann Arbor City Guide app for iPhone and iPad. The Ann Arbor City Guide is the first iPad app published on the Apple App Store specifically related to Ann Arbor, MI, as well as the first iOS app promoting a city-specific, true 'buy local' campaign.
"The upcoming 2011 Ann Arbor Art Fair provided the perfect motivation to get this app published," states hyperLOCAL Connections CEO, and BuyLocalAnnArbor.com founder, Gint Gaska. "Independent, locally-owned businesses are struggling in this economy, and while the City Guide is our first app, we are strongly encouraged by the positive and thankful response from owners to keep building it out."
Visitors to and residents of Ann Arbor use the app to discover the independent, locally-owned businesses that make the city unique. Merchants can provide app users with information about their businesses including links to websites and location on a map. The promotion of specials, the announcement of events, alerts, daily photos, maps, and a social media mashup are other features of this initial version of the app.
Ann Arbor City Guide is available in the Apple iTunes App Store now for free. Visitors going to the Ann Arbor Art Fair can find a QR code for downloading the app on page 25 of the Art Fair Official Event Guide.
