Multiple personalities, vampires conspire to complicate teen’s life in new novel

The success of a young adult fiction series such as Twilight and The Hunger Games proves that readers are flocking to the genre. In The Gemini Trilogy: The Awakening (published by AuthorHouse), by T.J. Lajeunesse, 17-year old Dawn Price is approaching her 18th birthday and discovers an entirely new world that beckons for her. Her first inkling comes when she starts experiencing strange symptoms.

I couldn’t understand why I felt so tired. I went to bed at eight after a long, hot, relaxing bath. I didn’t think I was having problems with sleeping, it just didn’t seem to be regenerating me. If I could only put my finger on it, like if it was a bad dream, I could fix it, but I wasn’t having bad dreams. Not one. I didn’t feel sick or sore from sports. It just seemed to be that I wasn’t sleeping.

Soon Dawn, together with her brother Mark and her friends Matt and Pam, learns the truth: there is another personality in her head named Dee, who has been taking her on nocturnal adventures. Dawn learns that the secret of Dee’s existence is found in a horrible secret memory that she’s repressed, and only through dealing with that memory will she learn to coexist with Dee.

That’s not all; soon Dawn learns that she is the key to a centuries-old, pan-dimensional battle between light and dark: she is the Gemini. The arrival of a pair of vampires complicates matters when Victor, the dark vampire, falls in love with Dee—but Atticus, the light vampire, falls in love with Dawn. Will she be able to find the right path?
