“Moving onto Facebook is a natural evolution for Catalogue because passively flipping through and sharing pictures is already one of the most popular activities for hundreds of millions of people on Facebook,” said Siva Kumar, CEO of TheFind.

TheFind, creator of the popular iPad App CATALOGUE by TheFind, today introduced a Facebook app by the same name. The app, which re-imagines the catalog shopping experience for iPad and Android tablets, has now been expanded to the Facebook platform where the company sees opportunities to drive commerce via social sharing of catalogs.
At launch, CATALOGUE includes more-than 120 different catalog titles from retailers such as Crate and Barrel, Williams Sonoma, Sephora, and Nordstrom, and creates opportunities for retailers to expose their catalog merchandising savvy to an engaged audience on Facebook that is already accustomed to flipping through pictures of the people, places, and things they enjoy.
“Moving onto Facebook is a natural evolution for CATALOGUE because passively flipping through and sharing pictures is already one of the most popular activities for hundreds of millions of people on Facebook,” said Siva Kumar, CEO of TheFind. “Leveraging the open social graph, there are additional opportunities to add features that integrate the iPad and Facebook experiences such as custom catalogs curated from the things you and your friends like.”
According to the American Catalog Mailers Association (in 2006):
- Catalogs are a $270 billion industry
- 20 billion catalogs are printed in the U.S. every year
- 50 percent of Americans purchase at least one item from catalogs annually
CATALOGUE by TheFind is available immediately on Facebook at http://apps.facebook.com/thefind_CATALOGUE. CATALOGUE is also available for free and immediate download from the iTunes store as well as the Android marketplace and can also be found at http://www.thefind.com/tablet.
