With the 10th anniversary commemoration of 9/11 just days before the start of 2011 Chevrolet Fireball Run Adventurally, Fueled by the Fallen seemed the perfect choice as honorary police escort, and a great partner for the Race to Recover Missing Children.

Fueled by the Fallen, the Memorial Tribute Car Tour founded by Kevyn Major Howard, (“Rafterman” from Stanley Kubrick’s blockbuster film Full Metal Jacket) joins the 2011 Chevrolet Fireball Run Adventurally.
A specially-designed 2011 Chevrolet Camaro “First Responders Memorial” vehicle and a mint-condition 2001 Crown Victoria “National Law Enforcement Memorial” police cruiser have been selected to act as honor guard for the rally’s police escort in-and-out of the destination cities. Each of the two memorial cruisers are covered with the names of over one-thousand fallen police officers and first responders that have lost their lives on and since September 11th, 2001.
“Fueled by the Fallen” is non-profit that assists in supporting our Military Members, Public Safety Personnel, and their Families to aid in their emotional, physical, and financial recovery needs by displaying and racing Memorial Tribute cars. (In addition to the two Memorial Cruisers participating in the rally; Fueled by the Fallen also has race cars, dragsters, and funny cars, representing the fallen from Iraq and Afghanistan in all the four branches of the armed services.)
NASCAR legend Geoff Bodine and Shuttle Astronaut Winston Scott will compete with nearly 50 other teams in the 2011 Chevrolet Fireball Run Adventurally “Southern Excursion” -which starts September 23rd on Florida’s Space Coast and concludes October 1st on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. The cities encourage the public to come out, get autographs, and show their support.
Fireball Run Adventurally isn’t just a car event, but an exponentially growing entertainment property (with a cause.) The annually-filmed production travels over 2,500 miles to 15 cities in an 8 Day Race to help Recover America’s Missing Children- each team in the Fireball Run is assigned a missing child from their home region along with thousands of posters to distribute along the route. The Race to Recover America’s Missing Children is the largest active recovery effort in the country. To date, the effort has assisted in the recovery of 36 missing children.
The official destinations for 2011 include Melbourne, Florida, Peachtree City, Georgia, Knoxville and Clarksville, Tennessee, Anniston, Alabama, and Gulfport, Mississippi. Chevrolet, Barrett-Jackson Auctions, Mattel (Nitro/ Hot Wheels), LuxuryLifestyle.com, LiveStream.com, RealTrack GPS, O’Donnell Corporation, RedBird Printing, and Sazerac are all sponsors of the production.
