ArcMail Technology, Inc., a provider of universal email archiving solutions that address multiple business issues, today announced the appointment of Edward Dunn to Vice President of Sales for North America. A seasoned information technology (IT) executive with 20 years of experience, Dunn has been a key member of the ArcMail management team for more than three years, with his latest role being Director of Sales Engineering.

In this new capacity, he will be responsible for all sales and tactical marketing activities including overseeing regional sales managers, account managers, channel sales programs, technical support and sales engineering.

“Eddie has already made a significant contribution to ArcMail, and we will continue to draw upon his extensive IT knowledge and experience to drive ArcMail’s ongoing success across North America,” said Rory Welch, CEO of ArcMail. “This is just the beginning of a very exciting journey for ArcMail, in which we will continue to provide the industry with thought leadership and innovation. Eddie’s leadership will be instrumental as we move into new markets and offer new solutions that span email as well as other document types.”

Dunn’s appointment follows ArcMail’s recent launch of its Google Apps™-focused ArcMail Guardian™ appliance. Guardian offers a centralized, hybrid approach to email archiving. Sold through ArcMail channel partners, it consists of an on-premise appliance that simultaneously retrieves, indexes and archives all email messages – whether they are hosted by traditional email servers or as part of cloud-based corporate Google accounts.

“Eddie and his team are actively working to capitalize on building momentum for the Guardian product across corporate and education markets where Gmail™ and Google Apps usage is prevalent, while setting the stage for the other universal archiving solutions that we plan to launch in the year ahead,” noted Welch.

Guardian represents the newest addition to ArcMail’s Defender line of email archiving appliances, which are sold worldwide and include models ranging in capacity from 500GB to 16TB, with larger customized solutions also available. The Defender appliances feature a fault-tolerant open source design, multiple configuration options and archiving speeds of up to 500,000-plus messages per day.

With a career that encompasses IT systems engineering, training and management, Dunn joined ArcMail after holding a variety of executive positions including CEO of Alpha Networks and Developers; senior systems engineer and managing partners for Integrated Network Solutions; and storage engineer for Dell Computers. At Dell, he led consulting engagements for Fortune 100 clients.

Dunn holds the MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) certification and an MS in neuro-linguistic programming from the Dilts Learning Center at The University of California, Santa Cruz.
