BACnet International Opens 2011 Award Nomination Process: Members Encouraged to Recognize Outstanding Contributors to the BACnet Community

BACnet International today announced that submissions for its annual awards to recognize the achievements of individuals and companies involved in the BACnet community are now being accepted. The award process is intended to allow BACnet International members to recognize and celebrate the hard work, commitment, and accomplishments of their peers. The on-line award submission page will remain open until September 15nd at 5pm EST. The winners will be announced at an Award Ceremony during the 2011 Facility Decisions Conference & Expo taking place October 11-12 2011 in Las Vegas, NV.

The award categories for individuals, companies, and projects along with award explanations are listed in the table below.

Alpha Dog Award. For outstanding leadership     (Individual Award)

St. Bernard Award.    For always coming to the rescue    (Individual OR Company Award)

German Shepherd Award.    For keeping the group in line and upholding BACnet Standards        (Individual OR Company Award)

Labrador Award.    For unquestioning loyalty to BACnet International & BACnet Standards        (Individual OR Company Award)

Rottweiler Award.    Fierce protector of BACnet International & BACnet Standards        (Individual OR Company Award)

Jack Russell Award.    For always doing something for the betterment of BACnet International & BACnet Standards        (Individual OR Company Award)

Howler Award.    Making a lot of noise about BACnet International & BACnet Standards        (Individual OR Company Award)

Fox Hound Award.    For quickly and stealthily coming up from behind (i.e., a newer BACnet International member making a splash    Company Award

Best in Show Award.    A project (posted in the BACnet Success Stories) worthy of merit    Project Award

Andy McMillan, President of BACnet International and General Manager of Philips Teletrol, reflected on the year’s success and prompted BACnet International members to participate in the awards process, “2011 has been an exceptional year in terms of adding new members, creating BACnet success stories, and accelerated adoption of BACnet in building automation. A great many members have contributed to this success, so my thanks go out to all of them.” McMillan added, “Now is the time to recognize those BACnet International individuals and companies who deserve special recognition for their hard work and success.”
