Trustnode's interactive, cartoon character-driven benefits education and enrollment platform propels participation rates in voluntary benefits being offered to diverse, widely-dispersed union membership.

Based on results achieved in earlier deployments, we are confident that the Trustnode cartoon character-driven platform will significantly enhance the enrollment process for this voluntary benefits offering, and, given these results, future offerings.

Kevin Dunn, Trustnode CEO and co-founder, today announced that use of Trustnode’s interactive benefits education and enrollment platform has, in early results, increased participation rates in a voluntary benefits offering 5X, compared with traditional enrollment methods. Trustnode is the creator of an online, interactive benefits education and enrollment platform driven by The Potters and Friends™, a cast of programmable, animated cartoon characters linked to an insurance knowledge base. The Trustnode platform enables insurance carriers and agents, benefits brokers, and employers to quickly and easily provide a personalized online experience that more effectively engages employees in the benefits enrollment process.

A large multi-line insurance carrier is using the Trustnode platform to drive enrollment in a voluntary life insurance benefit (for member, spouse, dependents) and a long-term disability insurance benefit (for members only) being offered to one of the largest employee unions in California. The offerings were deployed on Trustnode’s interactive platform in May 2011.

According to a representative, the carrier required an efficient means of adequately communicating with the union’s diverse and widely-distributed membership. Trustnode’s online, interactive platform, which enables 24/7 access from any location, was deemed to be an effective tool for reaching the approximately 4,000 individuals in more than 30 locations comprising the union’s membership. Enrollment via the Trustnode platform increased union member enrollment 5X, compared with the traditional enrollment tools being used by the carrier.

“We’re thrilled to be working on this voluntary benefits offering and excited by these outstanding early results. Based on results achieved in earlier deployments, we are confident that our platform will significantly enhance the enrollment process for this voluntary benefits offering, and, given these results, future offerings. The increased participation rates garnered using The Potters and Friends validate our cognitive science-based approach to educating employees about voluntary insurance products, which can be complex and often difficult to grasp,” stated Kevin.
