Goldstein, Karlewicz & Goldstein, LLP (GKG), a full-service, certified public accounting and consulting firm offering clients more than 35 years of industry expertise with offices in Chestnut Ridge, Newburgh and Poughkeepsie, NY, today announced that Scott Goldstein, a founding partner of GKG, was named Leader of the Year by Leadership Rockland at its annual dinner held June 16th. Leadership Rockland is a nonprofit organization that identifies, informs and inspires leaders to better serve the community by increasing their awareness of the many facets of Rockland County.
A 1995 graduate of the Leadership Rockland program, Goldstein has remained active with Leadership Rockland by serving as a member and then president on the Alumni Executive Board, and subsequently joined the Leadership Rockland Executive Board, serving as its treasurer for over ten years.
“Scott, my Leadership Rockland classmate, board mate, and friend, has played the key role of Treasurer for more than 10 years, while also serving on the Executive Board. His contributions of time and expertise have benefitted the organization and it has remained solvent through some challenging times,” said Dorothy Filoramo, President of the Executive Board, Leadership Rockland, and Vice President of Institutional Advancement, Dominican College. “Scott has served on almost every committee and gained the respect of fellow board members for his insights and guidance on issues that affect Leadership Rockland’s strength and recognition as the premier Leadership organization in our county.”
In addition to his support of Leadership Rockland, Goldstein’s involvement in the local community includes serving as a past president of the Board of Advisors for the Rockland County Unit of the American Cancer Society, a past board member of Junior Achievement of the Hudson Valley and a past member of Rockland County’s United Way Allocation Committee.
“My passion for inspiring tomorrow’s leaders and for the Rockland Community are direct results of my personal experience as a student of the Leadership Rockland program,” said Goldstein, a West Nyack resident. “I am honored to be recognized as Leader of the Year and look forward to my continued involvement with this great organization.”
