Ifbyphone®, a voice-based marketing automation platform, announced today that it is recognized as one of “Chicago’s 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For” by the National Association for Business Resources (NABR).

The annual “101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For” list highlights workplace best practices and recognizes the local businesses that best embody them.

“Ifbyphone creates a work environment that caters to learning, fosters a commitment to company values, and focuses on communicating information rather than creating demands,” said Irv Shapiro, CEO of Ifbyphone. “We are honored to be recognized by the NABR for maintaining a workplace dynamic where employees look forward to coming in to the office every day.”

As a small, high-growth technology firm, Ifbyphone is part of an exciting chapter in Chicago’s growing tech scene. Its vibrant work culture delivers the latest voice-based marketing automation technology in a workplace conducive to critical thinking and brainstorming. For example, its work hard, play hard philosophy is carried out in a variety of ways: the office boasts an Xbox, Ping-Pong table, putting green, and plenty of snacks, drinks and an informal lounge area ideal for impromptu meetings.

Ifbyphone retains top talent by recognizing excellent employee work, and distributes special performance-related bonuses and annual holiday gifts. To reward the team for a great 2010, for example, Ifbyphone gave all employees iPads. While the iPads were clearly a reward, Ifbyphone recognizes the importance of staying abreast of technology. The mobility of the iPad not only empowers employees to capture ideas when inspiration strikes, but also to explore new technologies to help grow the business.

Ifbyphone employees also have access to see and do special projects that one typically wouldn’t have exposure to at a larger company. For instance, employees from all levels of the company engage with senior leadership to learn and grow from their mentorship. As part of its onboarding efforts, Ifbyphone also holds a two-week training program for new employees. Attendees have the opportunity to hear from guest speakers that present on topics geared toward learning the Ifbyphone suite of applications, internal systems and tools, its customers, and performance measurement. In addition, Ifbyphone provides off-site training as needed, as well as coaching and mentoring.

To determine what companies made this year’s 101 Best and Brightest list, an independent research firm evaluated entries based on the following categories: communication, community initiatives, compensation and benefits, diversity and multiculturalism, employee education and development, employee engagement and commitment, recognition and retention, small business recruitment and section, and work-life balance.

“This year’s winners epitomize what it means to be committed to employees,” said Jennifer Klunge, NABR president. “Our winners excel at employee relations, innovative motivation, creative compensation programs and more.”

Ifbyphone’s solid company values, work-life balance, competitive compensation and benefits, including stock options for all employees, make the company a great place to work.

NABR will honor Ifbyphone and other winners at a symposium and awards luncheon on August 1 at the Chicago Oak Brook Marriott. The top 11 “Best and Brightest” businesses will also be revealed at the event.
