FORA.tv, the leading online destination for video programs from the world's best conferences and events, today announced the hiring of two executives: Rob Flynn as vice president of sales and marketing, and Eric Pfeiffer as vice president of content. Flynn, who most recently acted as vice president of communications and marketing at MacNeil/Lehrer Productions, will lead FORA.tv's sponsorship sales strategy. Eric Pfeiffer, a startup veteran who most recently served as editorial director at NileGuide, will take the lead in further developing FORA.tv’s editorial strategy. The company also announced plans to open an office in Washington, D.C.
"I am thrilled to welcome Rob and Eric to FORA.tv," said Blaise Zerega, president and CEO of FORA.tv. "Their arrival will help us to attract more top-tier content partners, to deliver superior membership experiences, and ultimately, to provide valuable sponsorship and advertising opportunities for our conference partners."
"FORA.tv's unparalleled roster of conferences and events has enabled the company to build an audience of sought-after demographics and influence," said Rob Flynn, vice president of sales and marketing, FORA.tv. "I look forward to developing innovative partnerships for major brands and event organizations."
“Rob is a proven leader in creating support for high quality journalism and public affairs programming. He has worked with the best at MacNeil/Lehrer and he brings a wealth of contacts and experience - as well as an understanding of the needs of audiences and sponsors. His skills will strengthen FORA.tv’s position as the foremost site for conference and event video," said William R. Hearst III, Chair of the FORA.tv Board of Directors and its lead investor.
FORA.tv is the definitive video destination for the world’s most-influential conferences and agenda-setting events. With highly regarded content partners from the Aspen Ideas Festival, to the Economist, to the New Yorker Festival, to 92Y, FORA.tv is reshaping the way audiences interact with important political, business, technological and cultural issues.
“FORA.tv is an unrivaled resource for smart, curious people seeking a broader understanding of the world around them,” said Eric Pfeiffer, vice president of content, FORA.tv. “It’s an honor to be joining the team during this exciting time of rapid growth.”
"Eric was a 'franchise player' at AllBusiness.com and NileGuide, but it's his two-decades as a prize-winning journalist when he edited some of America's greatest writers and thinkers that makes him uniquely qualified for a leadership position at FORA.tv," said Zerega.
Prior to joining FORA.tv, Flynn led corporate and foundation fundraising, marketing, communications and business development efforts for the PBS NEWSHOUR and other MacNeil Lehrer Productions projects. Previously, Flynn served as the managing director of marketing and communications at The Golf Channel in Orlando, Florida, and as the senior director of public affairs at The National Cable Television Association in Washington, D.C.
Pfeiffer comes to FORA.tv from travel site NileGuide, where he served as editorial director, and from AllBusiness.com, where he served as editorial director and which was acquired by Dun & Bradstreet in 2007 for $55 million. Pfeiffer was a longtime editor at Forbes ASAP where he edited big thinkers like Peter Drucker, Gore Vidal, Kurt Vonnegut, and Tom Peters, among others.
