Kickballers will get to take in one of America’s most unique expanses of urban recreational fields, playing against the dramatic backdrop of the famous Manhattan skyline.

Kickball365 has announced that the New York City Grand National Tournament (NYCGN) has launched registration for its 3rd annual installment, to take place on Saturday, August 13, 2011. Teams from all around the country will once again descend on the Big Apple to prove they are the best on and off the field, to win cold, hard cash, and to support worthwhile local charities.

The New York City Grand National Tournament is the seventh and final National Tour Event on The Circuit, presented by Kickball365. The Circuit is the only national, professional tour of top-flight, competitive kickball tournaments in America and will award over $21,000 in cash prizes to its event and tour champions and top finishers.

The event is set to take place at Randall’s Island in New York City, New York. Kickballers will get to take in one of America’s most unique expanses of urban recreational fields, playing against the dramatic backdrop of the famous Manhattan skyline.

All co-ed teams can register today to compete for the cash prize pool at http://bit.ly/nycgn2011. New and existing teams are welcome, regardless of their league affiliation. NYCGN welcomes teams from existing leagues, companies, alumni groups, young professionals organizations, educational institutions, and even just old friends or new looking to get some kicks in on a summer Saturday.

Last year alone, multiple teams from up and down the Eastern seaboard, representing five (5) kickball organizations, made NYCGN their August destination for tournament play. This year’s tournament expects teams from New York, New Jersey, Washington, D.C., Florida, California, Arizona, and more.

In addition to providing a weekend of competitive kickball and ultimate paryting, the NYCGN is once again going to be raising money for a good cause. Literacy Partners of New York will again be the official charity, and a portion of proceeds from the tournament will go to support its tremendous efforts to provide community-based literacy efforts to deserving citizens in the NYC area.

Local sponsors of the NYCGN include Cucci Chiropractic, a long-time supporter of active, athletic kickballers in the Big Apple.

A competitor from last year had this to say about the Grand National Tournament experience, "The competition and spirit of adult kickball made its way to the city that never sleeps and offered us thrilling tournament play, numerous social events, and raised money for Literacy Partners of New York!”

The tournament will be utilizing Kickball365′s Official Circuit Rules. Each team will have four (4) guaranteed games; the top 16 teams will then advance to a single-elimination format to declare the winners. The tournament will allow up to 32 co-ed kickball teams to compete for cash. Players must be 18 years old to play and 21 to attend the social events. Additionally, teams must have at least four (4) females on the field at all times, and teams must consist of at least eight (8) players total. Teams planning to attend this event should come expecting competitive kickball, plenty of food, plenty of beer, cash prizes for the winners, and an amazing overall social experience.

For kickball teams itching to earn the title of best in the Big Apple — the NYCGN challenges one and all to prove it. An awesome weekend with a bunch of zany adult kickball players awaits on August 13th.
