Service King Collision Repair Centers, a Richardson, Texas-based operator of high-quality collision repair facilities in the Dallas-Ft.Worth Metroplex, and Houston and San Antonio markets opened its first “Green Technology” collision center in DFW this week in Lewisville TX, located at 2765 S. Stemmons, Lewisville, TX 75067, just 2 miles south of their previous location. This 30,000 square foot facility has been outfitted with specialized equipment enabling them to use waterborne paint, a cleaner alternative to traditional solvent paints. While it is not yet a requirement to use waterborne paint in Lewisville, it is in line with the cities goals of environmental responsibility. “As we grow our business we want to continue to reduce our carbon footprint,” says Executive Vice President of Operations, Danny McKinley. “Using waterborne paint is just another step in the right direction for our staff and the communities in which we serve.” Waterborne technology is a basecoat system that significantly reduces VOC’s (Volatile Organic Compounds) as well as the solvents inherently found in traditional basecoats, and replaces it with distilled water. There are many benefits to using waterborne paint including reducing emissions, ease of color match, less waste and faster turnaround time. In fact, the automakers themselves have been using waterborne paint for their factory paint jobs for many years.

This facility further extends Service King’s position as the largest employee and independently owned collision repair organization in the U.S. with 42 locations throughout Texas. “Our primary focus is to make sure each store is running at 100% in terms of quality repair, on-time delivery and customer service. We also want to make sure we are offering the superior value and service that our customers have come to expect from all of our Texas collision centers,” said McKinley.

Service King Collision Repair Centers was founded 35 years ago by Owner and CEO, Eddie Lennox with one location in Dallas, Texas. Now, with 23 Dallas-Fort Worth locations, 11 Houston locations and 8 San Antonio locations. Service King is the largest employee-owned collision repair center in the United States with at least 3 more facilities scheduled to open throughout Texas in 2011.
