Miami, FL (PRWEB) July 21, 2011
At the recent Zumba® Instructor Convention 2011 in Orlando, FL, more than 500 fitness instructors took the Advantix Systems’ Clean Air Workout Challenge to compare first-hand the difference in indoor air quality created by conventional HVAC systems and Advantix System’s breakthrough air conditioning and dehumidification technology.
Athletes and fitness trainers are acutely aware of what it is like to embark on an intensive workout regimen while exposed to humid indoor air. Working out in poor air conditions can impact performance, make breathing difficult and be unpleasant due to odor.
Zumba®, known for its fun, dancelike routines and enthusiastic instructors, is a demanding workout that requires a cool space with clean, dry air. Conventional air conditioning units do not sufficiently dehumidify air, causing many Zumba participants to feel sticky, hot and uncomfortable. Sweaty conditions often lead to pools of perspiration on the floor, making the floors dangerously slippery.
To demonstrate the marked difference in air quality created by the different systems, Advantix Systems invited the Zumba fanatics and fitness instructors to exercise in two air-sealed workout spaces at the convention: one installed with a conventional air conditioning unit and the other with an Advantix Systems’ DuCool unit.

“As a way of demonstrating the importance of clean, dry air, we invited the Zumba fitness instructors to personally experience the benefits of Advantix Systems’ technology in the most meaningful way possible – through a fitness challenge,” said Trevor Wende, Vice President of Marketing at Advantix Systems. “The regular, air conditioned side of the challenge lowered the air temperature, but the air was still sticky and humid. The Advantix Systems’ side controlled both the temperature and the humidity levels, creating a more comfortable, fresher and healthier workout environment.”
“The Zumba instructors who danced for several minutes on the conventional side would leave the space drenched in sweat and fatigued from the sticky, humid air,” added Wende. “The same instructors would then work out in the Advantix Systems’ workout space and were able to do their routines for longer because they felt more refreshed, comfortable and invigorated.”
Advantix Systems is a leading manufacturer of energy efficient dehumidification and air conditioning solutions. Advantix’s technology utilizes liquid desiccant to simultaneously dehumidify and cool air, and also scrub the air of germs and odor, creating a healthier, safer environment.
Nearly all participants – 97 percent – preferred the air quality in the Advantix space, and many were surprised at how much more comfortable they felt during their workout. Other survey results revealed that:
“Usually after just two minutes of Zumba dance in regular air I’m covered in sweat, but the Advantix Systems’ air was amazing,” said Natalie Walter, a Los Angeles-based Zumba instructor. “I was able to dance and dance and I felt great. The Advantix Systems Clean Air Workout Challenge showed me the difference between the regular air and the Advantix air, which is like night and day. I highly recommend any studio owner to consider Advantix Systems.”
