After two years of development and testing at the busiest airports, we are now making this product available worldwide.

Globe Composite Solutions announced today the launch of a lightweight high speed diverter arm made with advanced, yet cost-effective, composite materials. Now, customers can reduce energy consumption and extend the life of their Siemens High Speed Diverters (HSD Model Numbers 6600 & 6650) by easily replacing the existing aluminum arms with Globe’s fully compatible composite components.

The lightweight, all-composite construction of Globe’s diverter arm allows faster activation, thereby reducing baggage or parcel jams. Since the composite arm is 20% lighter than its aluminum counterpart, users can significantly reduce energy consumption and lower the wear-and-tear on the drive systems. In addition, the specially designed composite rollers reduce noise, resulting in a quieter operation.

“We were approached by many users of older-style Siemens diverters at major US airports to develop composite replacement components so they didn’t have to go through the expense of upgrading to newer models”, said Carl W. Forsythe, President & CEO of Globe Composite Solutions. “After two years of development and testing at the busiest airports, we are now making this product available worldwide”, he added.

The diverter arm is made of self-lubricating, impact-absorbing composite material which lowers friction and extends belt life. The timing belt drive extends bearing and belt life for a longer service life. And, all spare parts are available within 48 hours to further reduce downtime.
