Denver Hot Tubs – Hot Tubs Boulder, Hot Tubs Can Ease Symptoms of Juvenile Arthritis with Hot Water Therapy, But Many Caregivers Are Unaware of the Benefits of Hydrotherapy

International Hot Tub Company, a Colorado Hot Spring Spas dealer, is showing their support for Juvenile Arthritis Awareness Month by offering free hot tub test soaks at all their stores located in Denver, Boulder, and Littleton.

Juvenile arthritis (JA) is an umbrella term used to describe the many autoimmune and inflammatory conditions that can develop in children ages 16 and younger. According to the Arthritis Foundation, juvenile arthritis is one of the most common diseases in children, with almost 300,000 in the United States diagnosed with the debilitating illness.

According to Rich Hiner, President of Hot Spring Spas Denver, “Hot water therapy can be a great way to relax muscles and joints without having to look for pain relief past the comfort of your own backyard. The massaging action from the spa jets loosens tight muscles, while the buoyancy of the warm water takes the weight and pressure off of sore joints.”

“In addition, the buoyancy, warmth and massage from the hot tub can also increase blood circulation, lower your blood pressure and release endorphins, the body’s natural pain killers,” continued Hiner.

"When joint pain, swelling or stiffness occurs in one or more joints for at least six weeks, it may be an early signal of a serious, inflammatory rheumatic disease that requires immediate medical treatment to prevent permanent joint damage," says Arthritis Foundation Vice President of Public Health, Dr. Patience White.

Arthritis is a problem thought to be found only in older adults, causing many children to suffer from this very painful disease longer than they have to. In addition, JA can have a serious impact on a young child and can even be life-threatening. That’s why it is important that parents and other caregivers are aware of what symptoms to look for.

“We think Juvenile Arthritis Awareness Month is a great opportunity to help educate the public on how warm water hydrotherapy can effectively relieve the symptoms of JA. That’s why we will provide free hot tub test soaks in all four of our locations throughout the month of July,” said Hiner. “We strongly recommend that parents speak with their doctor before deciding on how to treat JA. If your doctor approves of hydrotherapy, we suggest that parents simply call us in advance to schedule their free 30-minute soak, so they can fully experience the benefits themselves.”
