Denver, CO (PRWEB) July 22, 2011
Swisslog, a leading provider of automated materials transport and medication management solutions for hospitals, today announced that 16 of the 17 best hospitals in the United States according to U.S. News & World Report are its customers, including all of the top 10.
U.S. News evaluated almost 5,000 hospitals to compile its Best Hospitals 2011 list. Death rates, patient safety, and reputation among more than 10,000 specialists went into the rankings. Just 17 hospitals are featured in an Honor Roll of the very best hospitals in the country.
A place on the Best Hospitals Honor Roll is reserved for medical centers that demonstrate unusually high expertise across multiple specialties, scoring at or near the top in at least six of 16 adult specialties.
Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore was again ranked as the best hospital in the country, as it has been for the past 21 years.
U.S. News publishes its annual ranking of the best hospitals “to help guide patients who need high-stakes care because of the complexity or difficulty of their condition or procedure,” according to the magazine.
“Successful outcomes for those with complex conditions often come down to how quickly and reliably doctors and nurses get the items they need to diagnose and treat their patients,” said Charlie Kegley, president of Swisslog Healthcare Solutions North America. “Whether it be the speedy return of verified lab results or the reliable transport of medicine from the pharmacy to the nursing stations, our pneumatic tube systems allow hospitals to deliver quality healthcare faster, safer and with greater efficiency. As a result, we are proud to have played a role in helping 16 of our customers achieve U.S. News Honor Roll status.”
