DogWalker.com received its 600th listing since launching just over a year and a half ago in December of 2009. The new listing was created by Frances Walks Your Dog, a dog walking service in Grand Rapids, Michigan. So far in 2011, there have been 263 listings from dog walking services and dog walkers on DogWalker.com.
According to Elliot Silver, the founder of DogWalker.com, the expansion of the website is good for advertisers and for website visitors. "The growth of DogWalker.com is exciting to watch and track. Traffic to the site continues to grow each month, bringing new business to advertisers," said Silver. "Additionally, with a greater number of listings, it is more likely that a visitor to DogWalker.com will find a local dog walker when needed."
Silver noted that the website now receives over 13,000 visitors per month, which is more than double the 6,000 visitors the website saw in July of 2010. Traffic growth has been attributed to search engine marketing efforts, local advertising, and networking with dog walking services, non-profit pet organizations, and complementary service providers.
DogWalker.com also continues to see good press in mainstream media publications. The July 2011 issue of Real Simple magazine used information from Silver in its article about How Much to Tip for Summer Expenses. Silver recommended that dog owners tip their dog walker up to 20% of the total cost, and possibly more if the dog walker worked for a week or longer, especially if it isn't a regular service.
In 2010, DogWalker.com was featured on a number of popular websites, including MSN, Fox Business, Yahoo! Finance, and Money on the Today Show. Cities with a significant number of dog walking services listed include New York City, San Francisco, San Diego, Chicago, Boston, Seattle, Portland, Miami, Charlotte, Houston, Dallas, Philadelphia, Las Vegas and Phoenix.
DogWalker.com is a website that makes it easy for dog owners to find local dog walking services. Dog owners can search for a dog walker by city, neighborhood or zip code.
