In addition, online turnover continued to grow significantly by 48% on last year.

IronmongeryDirect, the UK's largest online and mail order supplier of ironmongery products to the trade, has announced significant and continued growth in its half year results, as it reports turnover up 25% to £7.1million compared with £5.7million for the same period in 2010. In addition, online turnover continued to grow significantly by 48% on last year.

IronmongeryDirect's managing director, Wayne Lysaght-Mason, comments; "This is a fantastic achievement and one which the whole company should be proud of. There is no doubt that this has been a tough time for the building industry but by offering customers expertise, fast service and a huge choice has helped to answer demand and ensured customers continue to call on us for the next project."

As part of the company's growth strategy IronmongeryDirect has invested over £1million in its operations and will be moving to new premises with capacity expected to be double that of its current footprint. Wayne Lysaght-Mason adds; "We are growing in more ways than one. The move to new premises means scope to accommodate considerable increase of product lines providing more choice and convenience, yet also allows us to continue to improve on operating efficiencies and order fulfillment to maintain our position in the industry as one of the fastest next day delivery services."
