"We are honored to have the opportunity to make this meaningful contribution to a school district that has been a true partner with Teacher Created Materials” said TCM’s CEO and founder, Rachelle Cracchiolo.

Teacher Created Materials (TCM), a 34-year old Huntington Beach-based educational publisher has donated almost $30,000 in materials to the Tuscaloosa County School System to assist in their tornado disaster relief. The Tuscaloosa area was one of the hardest hit in last April’s tornadoes. The district suffered the loss of three elementary schools and extensive damage to a middle school. The destruction at those schools was so severe that the district found itself needing to replace virtually all of the supplies and curriculum resources needed to keep teachers teaching and students learning.

Into this picture came TCM. TCM and Tuscaloosa have worked together for years with TCM supplying award-winning resources and teacher training for a variety of areas. So, when the call went out for assistance in rebuilding their curriculum resources, TCM was happy to help.

“As parents and educators we understand the effect this type of devastation can have on the students and their families, as well as the teachers and others who work in the schools. We are honored to have the opportunity to make this meaningful contribution to a school district that has been a true partner with Teacher Created Materials” said TCM’s CEO and founder, Rachelle Cracchiolo.

TCM quickly put together a shipment of resources to restock the elementary and middle schools. The shipment included classroom materials that will be used in over 50 classrooms.

“We endeavor to be good neighbors, whether in our local community or in the broader education community,” stated company President, Corinne Burton, “and we wish the students and teachers in Tuscaloosa the best in the coming school year.”

The Tuscaloosa School District is located in West-Central Alabama and enrolls approximately 17,000 students spread over 24 campuses.
