SkillSurvey®, Inc., the inventor and leading-provider of Web 2.0 reference-assessment solutions, has announced that its bookings for the second quarter of 2011 increased by 84-percent over the same period in 2010.

“Even during these still uncertain times, SkillSurvey is experiencing tremendous growth due to the loyalty of our existing customers, the innovations we continue to bring to the market, and the fact that our solution continues to help companies and recruiters improve their performance and hiring decisions,” remarked Ray Bixler, president and chief executive officer. “SkillSurvey now has over 500 clients on its roster.”

As SkillSurvey has expanded its reach, its balance of business across all markets is shifting. The healthcare sector remains a strong component of SkillSurvey’s business, and the firm has now also seen a rise in companies in other sectors that have turned to its automated solutions, Pre-Hire 360® and Passive Candidate Compiler®, to improve their hiring quality and efficiency. Most notable are companies from financial services, consumer markets and retail segments, including firms like Citigroup®, Clorox®, Genworth Financial®, John Hancock® and Kohl’s®.

The company also attributes its success to its commitment to ongoing improvement. “We pride ourselves on never resting on our laurels,” said Bixler. “We want to be better than we were last year or last month. Therefore, we maintain an aggressive schedule of releasing new features of the software and services we provide, always with the goal of making recruiters’ jobs easier.”

Recently, SkillSurvey enhanced its Pre-Hire 360® and Passive Candidate Compiler® by opening its API so they can integrate with applicant tracking systems and background-screening systems that hiring companies are already using. Because the systems can now communicate seamlessly, human resources teams can enjoy an uninterrupted and coordinated workflow spanning the entire application-to-onboarding process.

Pre-Hire 360® automates the process of gathering input from an applicant’s references by using behaviorally-based surveys delivered through email. The surveys delve into a candidate’s strengths and developmental needs, as borne out on the job. Input from managers, peers, subordinates and business partners provides a multi-dimensional view of the candidate’s past performance. The system overcomes the usual reticence of former employers, because they are released from legal liability and their feedback is confidential. References from over 150 countries have participated in the process.

The mobile version of Pre-Hire 360® also continues to grow, and is now running on Blackberry®, iPhone®, Android™, Palm® and Windows Mobile™ devices. Recruiters can initiate, monitor and view reference assessments while attending job fairs, networking events and traveling between appointments. In turn, references can also respond while on-the-go.

SkillSurvey also provides access to a vast pool of prospective candidates using its passive candidate database, called the Passive Candidate Compiler®. The resource enables employers to efficiently build a network of prospects that can be tapped as the need arises, and is comprised of references themselves who have opted-in. If an organization of average size fills 1,000 openings per year and processes five candidates for each position, it will amass a database of talent leads consisting of approximately 18,000 passive candidates.
