Due to the recent, extensive growth of the Association of Divorce Financial Planners(ADFP), the organization is expecting a record attendance at its 9th Annual Conference, September 23-24.

“In recent years, we've expanded our chapters across the U.S., including California, New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Tennessee. Chapters in the Pacific Northwest, the greater Boston area and elsewhere are also under development,” said ADFP President, Lili Vasileff. “This year, we've chosen the ideal location where all these professionals can come together to harvest ideas from the leaders in divorce financial planning: the world-class Doral Arrowwood Resort.”

Divorce financial practitioners, allied divorce professionals, judges, attorneys, mediators, therapists, paralegals, child specialists, CPAs, insurance agents, realtors, mortgage loan officers and other finance professionals will gather from across the United States, Canada and Europe to gain perspectives from different disciplines. This is the first year the Annual Conference will be held at the Doral Arrowwood Resort, a 473,000-square-foot property located on 114 acres of rolling hills in Westchester County, enclave of Rye Brook, New York.

“Convenient to New York City but far enough from Manhattan's frenzied pace, the Doral Arrowwood is the ideal location for relaxed, professional networking,” says ADFP Executive vice president, Carl Palatnik. “Attendees will get the chance to learn divorce finance best practices while enjoying some quality downtime with fellow practitioners and mentors at the Robert von Hagge-designed golf course, at the tennis, racquetball or squash courts, or at one of several restaurants located on the resort property.”

In addition to the ADFP Conference on September 23-24, attendees will have the option to attend the September 22 Pre-Conference ADFP University, a one-day immersion in family law software, taxes, PR strategies, and the evolving role of divorce finance in litigation, mediation, and collaboration.

On September 23-24, Conference attendees will cover:

  •     Complex ethics issues in this niche industry
  •     What the "new normal" means in today's divorce finance
  •     Innovative techniques for creating new revenue streams
  •     Tax issues, retirement plans, and estate planning
  •     Best practices for exceeding clients' expectations, and more
