The average American spends a total of five years waiting in line, but a local company called Domestic Concierge is giving clients the chance to opt out of waiting their turn. Today the company is launching a redesigned website and expanded list of services, which includes everything from personal assistants, mobile massage and parental outsourcing to project management, relocation services and temporary staffing solutions. With the website’s new user-friendly client interface, having somebody run errands (and wait in line!) is only a few clicks away. While most businesses focus on selling a particular product, Domestic Concierge succeeds in offering the most precious commodity of all: free time.
“By outsourcing their time-consuming tasks to us, our clients are able to get their lives back and spend more time doing the things they always wished they had time to,” said Jennifer Taormina, professional organizer and CEO of Domestic Concierge. “In a world where 71% of couples don’t have time to share a meal together, having a few extra hours a week really makes a difference,” she continued, citing the "Bertolli Romance Report," an in-depth survey of couples conducted by The Segmentation Group.
Since Taormina first started Domestic Concierge in 2006, business has been booming for both her domestic concierge and corporate concierge services. As a result, she decided to expand her service list to include more a la carte options like cleaning and “errands-only” tasks, such as picking up dry cleaning. On the corporate concierge side of the business, options include relocation assistance for new employees, office organization and event planning. “We’re starting to see more and more of our corporate clients offer our domestic services to their employees as part of a benefits package, which is a really innovative way for companies to attract better talent,” she added.
According to the Corporate Executive Board, work-life balance is second only to compensation as the most important driver of employee attraction and commitment, and studies have proven that corporate concierge services increase employee efficiency and decrease absenteeism. By offering personal assistant-like service to businesses, Taormina is able to save her clients time and managers are able to keep their employees happy. She plans to launch their services in Orange County and Seattle in the fall with expansion to Scottsdale, Houston and Dallas in 2012. To help kick off the new service list, Domestic Concierge blog is hosting a Dyson vacuum giveaway.
Founded in 2006, Domestic Concierge currently offers a wide variety of services to busy individuals, families and businesses in the San Francisco bay area, including Los Gatos, San Jose, East Bay, Marin, Napa and Sonoma. Later this year, the company is expanding its services to Seattle, WA and Orange County, CA.
