BLOOM Premium London Dry Gin makes its U.S. debut this month when it is unveiled by master distiller Joanne Moore at a special tasting on July 26th in San Francisco.
Moore is the world's first female master gin distiller and only the seventh master distiller in the 250-year history of G & J Greenall, the United Kingdom’s longest continuous working distillery.
In addition to the four botanicals – juniper, coriander, angelica, and cubeb – typically used to distill premium London Dry Gin, Moore has blended camomile, honeysuckle and pomelo, which impart softer, slightly sweet and more floral notes to BLOOM. Its delicate flavor profile seeks to attract new drinkers to the gin category and to increase its appeal to both women and men.
“Gin seems to be associated with more masculine imagery, yet research shows that female gin drinkers outnumber their male counterparts,” said Joanne Moore, the master distiller who created BLOOM gin for G & J Greenall, “so the world is ready for a gin with softer, more floral flavors that might be more appealing to women than traditional blends.”
Moore unveils BLOOM Gin at a special tasting for spirits industry professionals on July 26th at the Boothby Center for the Beverage Arts in San Francisco. The tasting will include five signature cocktails inspired by celebrated San Francisco chefs, as well as discussion on the growing influence of women in the distilled spirits market, led by industry expert and market researcher Maddy Dychtwald.
The fragrant aromas of a springtime garden were the inspiration for BLOOM and its ornate jewel-cut bottle. The smooth, softer taste of this triple distilled gin is derived from demineralized fresh spring water and pure, natural botanicals. Moore’s inspired blending of juniper, camomile, honeysuckle and pomelo result in a light, refreshing experience rounded with subtle notes of honey and orange.
Founded in 1761, G & J Greenall is the oldest of the United Kingdom’s major gin distilleries, and believed to be the first to appoint a female master distiller. Joanne Moore’s credits include numerous awards and accolades from gin competitions in the U.K. and across Europe.
BLOOM Premium London Dry Gin has garnered a loyal following in European markets since it was launched in 2009. The San Francisco tasting hosted by Moore is the brand’s first appearance in the U.S. in advance of its national roll-out to major American markets.
