Austin, TX and Springfield, IL (PRWEB) July 27, 2011
Alchemy Systems, the leading training solution for the manufacturing workforce, and the Illinois Manufacturers’ Association (IMA), the leading association for the development of manufacturing in the state of Illinois, announced that they have secured hundreds of thousands of dollars in training reimbursements for Illinois manufacturers for the last budget cycle for fiscal year 2010.
As one of the leading providers of training to Illinois manufacturers, Alchemy worked with the IMA to secure reimbursement for 18 companies with 24 plants under Illinois’ Employer Training Investment Program (ETIP). Alchemy’s paperless training platform, SISTEM, delivers, collects and streamlines the reporting necessary to qualify for ETIP.
ETIP was established by the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) to help Illinois employers remain competitive by upgrading their employees’ skills. This program potentially reimburses Illinois companies up to 50% of eligible and approved training costs. The State allocates funds to assist Illinois-based companies in becoming more competitive and to expand into new markets, with the goal of improving economic conditions and the job market within the state of Illinois.
Gilster-Mary Lee, a leading private label food manufacturer headquartered in Chester, Illinois was one of this year’s recipients. Tom Welge, vice president of Gilster-Mary Lee said, “We have been very pleased with the services SISTEM has provided our workforce. Training can be accomplished much more quickly than previous methods, and we have the ability to efficiently monitor the progress and follow-up required for each employee, by subject matter.”
“Through SISTEM we can instill the basic requirements of safe, quality food manufacturing in persons without a food background, in a relatively short period of time,” noted Welge. “The bilingual features of SISTEM have been important as well.”
Julie Starsiak, Membership Director for the IMA, remarked, “ETIP has been one of our most successful programs over the years. It is rare that a program can successfully unite government, business and the workforce to the benefit of all of them.”
“Alchemy has been key to helping our members qualify for ETIP reimbursement,” continued Starsiak. “Their affordable courses are geared specifically to the line workers, and the automatic documentation virtually eliminates the paperwork needed to qualify.”
Welge concluded, “While we were sold on the value of the system in and of itself, the additional financial support available through ETIP funding has been a big plus for our organization. Alchemy has made this potentially confusing process painless for our company.”
A new round of ETIP funding is expected soon, and companies interested in applying are encouraged to contact the IMA’s Janie Stanley, Revenue & Grant Administrator at 800-875-4462, ext 13020 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
