Chesapeake Bay Foundation co-workers to ride 1,300 miles throughout the Chesapeake Bay Watershed to raise funds and create awareness

“Bambeco is proud to partner with Dr. McGee and Mr. Rodenhausen of the Chesapeake Bay Foundation as they undertake their journey to raise funds and promote awareness of the state of the Chesapeake Bay Watershed,” said Susan Aplin, CEO of bambeco.

Bambeco, a Baltimore-based, early-stage, eco-conscious retailer of home décor, furniture and accessories will support Dr. Beth McGee and John Rodenhausen of the Chesapeake Bay Foundation , as they ride 1,300 miles through six states to raise funds and promote awareness of issues that impact the Chesapeake Bay. Dr. McGee and Mr. Rodenhausen are raising funds for the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, the American Diabetes Association, and The Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins University, Pediatric Oncology.

Bambeco will support the team’s goal to raise $20,000 in the following ways:

  •     Making a matching donation for funds raised throughout the month of July
  •     Donating 20% of specific product sales to Chesapeake Bay Foundation between August 1st and August 18th
  •      Presenting an additional donation to the Chesapeake Bay Foundation in the team’s name for new Facebook “Likes” between July 30th and August 18th

Dr. McGee and Mr. Rodenhausen will ride 1,300 miles in six states (Maryland, Pennsylvania, New York, Virginia, West Virginia, Delaware and Washington, D.C.) between July 30th and August 18th, averaging anywhere from 40 to 90 miles per day. “We are thrilled to have bambeco and its customers' support in raising awareness of the important issues facing the Chesapeake Bay. The Chesapeake Bay is the nation’s largest estuary, and its 64,000 square mile watershed reaches from Cooperstown, New York to Cape Henry, Virginia and westward to the Allegheny Mountains. There are more than 17 million people living in the Chesapeake Bay watershed, a number that is increasing by roughly 150,000 each year,” said Dr. McGee.
