Rick Randazzo, FCA Hockey National Director, launches a five year tour spending one month in every state beginning in August 2011 in Portland, Maine. Randazzo will use the 50 States, 50 Cities – FCA Hockey Across America tour to expand the influence and impact of both FCA Hockey and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes in general.
The Fellowship of Christian Athletes is the world’s largest sports outreach impacting almost 2 million people annually on the professional, college, high school, junior-high and youth levels. Founded in 1954, FCA challenges athletes and coaches to impact their world for Jesus.
Randazzo’s love for hockey began as a child skating on frozen ponds in Buffalo, NY. In college, he skated all four years at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. Randazzo remains on their list of top scoring players. After active duty in the Army, Randazzo became the hockey coach for the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis. He holds the record for most wins as a Navy coach.
“FCA Hockey makes coaches and players better,” explains Randazzo. “The 50 States, 50 Cities tour will help coaches and athletes improve hockey skills and build personal character as we help them grow athletically and spiritually.”
Randazzo’s wife Shannan and their five children will tour with Rick. Shannan suggested the tour as the best way they as a family could help ignite the hockey world for Christ.
FCA Hockey is one of eleven sport-specific divisions of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. FCA is the largest coach and student-athlete outreach in the world. 350,000 athletes participate in FCA in middle schools, high schools and colleges. FCA helps athletes and coaches grow in their faith and use the platform of sports to share the message and love of Jesus with others.
