The infographic comes after South Korea announced that it will replace all textbooks with e-books within the next four years, costing $2.4 billion.

E-books, e-readers, tablets and other forms of technology are already popular among college students. More recently, these devices have started gaining popularity among elementary and junior high schools. In 2011, 73 percent of students claim they would not be able to study without digital devices, while in 1993, only 35 percent of public schools had internet access. As traditional teaching and learning processes are quickly being replaced by more advanced methods, schools are doing their best to keep up with changing trends.
