The launch of the new Facebook page for Reynolds Polymer Technology, Inc. extends additional contact points with customers on an international scale and bridges the gap between RPT’s online presence and in-person visits from sales team. The Facebook page will feature new projects, introduce new R-Cast® products, and keep followers up to speed on the latest developments at RPT.

RPT's Facebook page will keep followers up-to-date on the latest aquarium news, architectural products, and recently completed projects, while adding another dimension to customer service.

Understanding the need for continual contact with past, present, and future clients and the desire to upgrade to Web 2.0 customer service, Reynolds Polymer Technology, Inc. recently launched a Facebook page.

The Facebook page bridges the gap between their traditional Web site and the phone calls and personal visits the sales team conducts on a weekly basis. The extension into social media allows RPT to maintain a continual presence in front of current, past, and potential customers, as well as colleagues and associations in the industry all over the world.

“Facebook – and social media on the whole – is where businesses need to be to succeed and grow their bottom line,” stated Matt Houlihan, Vice President of Sales & Marketing. “We had been talking about expanding into social media for quite a while beyond just having our YouTube channel and decided that this was the best way to reach all our customers on a global scale.”

The ultimate goal of RPT’s Facebook page is to build awareness with people who may only have limited information about the company – if any information at all – and to create a preference for RPT when it comes time to complete their aquarium, zoo, pool, or architectural project. The secondary goal of the site is to offer another method of customer service.

“Because of the prevalence of Facebook, it made perfect sense to offer customers another way to interact with us,” said Houlihan. “Whether they have questions about our products, inquiries about an order they placed, or just want to find out more about us, Facebook offers the opportunity for quick responses that provide a richer experience than a simple e-mail or phone call.”

RPT’s Facebook page will profile recently completed projects, the introduction of new materials, present informative articles from within the various industries RPT works in, and provide other relevant posts such as job openings or major milestones for the company. The page will work in conjunction with the YouTube channel, which features videos of projects RPT completed around the world.
