Tuscany Developments Ltd. announced today the completion and grand opening of Grace Bay Beach's newest resort, The Venetian Grace Bay. The pre-selling success of many of The Venetian's 27 three-bedroom, three and one half bathroom beachfront residences and the popularity of its sister property, The Tuscany on Grace Bay, which is currently ranked #1 on TripAdvisor in Providenciales, are proof that tourism in the Turks and Caicos Islands continues to grow.

Earlier this year, TripAdvisor named Grace Bay Beach the #1 Beach Destination in the World, and 2011 first quarter numbers from the Turks and Caicos Tourism Board showed a 12% increase over the same three months in 2010. 2010 tourism was up 22% over 2009 figures.

"The Turks and Caicos tourism industry is one that continues to grow ... even in these challenging economic times," said Ralph Higgs, Acting Director of Tourism for the Turks and Caicos Tourism Board. "We are extremely pleased with these figures for our long stay visitors to the destination. Not just us but all of our tourism partners have worked together to achieve this great success."

The Turks and Caicos Islands have become especially popular with travelers from Canada and the U.K. Many U.S. cities offer direct flights to Providenciales Airport, including New York, Newark, Dallas, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Charlotte, Miami, and Toronto, Canada. A new 9,200 foot runway and expanded airfield facilities are expected to be completed in August, 2011.

The growth in tourism has led to a higher demand for elegantly appointed and reasonably priced accommodations like those found at The Venetian and The Tuscany. The Venetian's co-developer, Bob Ellingson-Lewis couldn't be happier, "Despite the slow economy, we've pre-sold many of The Venetian Grace Bay residences, and especially now that the units are finished, I am confident that potential buyers will fall in love with them. The Venetian is simply the best value on Grace Bay Beach."

As the saying goes, "A rising tide floats all boats," so the future looks bright indeed for The Venetian, The Tuscany, and the Turks and Caicos Islands.
