The time is now to get up and dance as Annabelle Candy Company announces the “Do the Abba-Zaba” Dance Contest, an exciting online promotion set to take place this summer.

Beginning August 18, the “Do the Abba-Zaba” Dance Contest will encourage fans of candy, dance, and music to create their own dance move called “the Abba-Zaba.” In an effort to boost brand awareness for the popular candy bar, the contest will be heavily advertised through popular social media websites and search engines including Yahoo, Google, YouTube and Facebook. The contest will be further hyped through viral videos, press releases and postcards.

“Since the 1920s, Abba-Zaba has been one of the most popular candy bars throughout the United States,” said David Klabunde, director of sales and marketing for Annabelle Candy Company. “The eye-catching, memorable black and yellow Abba-Zaba checkerboard wrapper has been an icon for many years. Our primary goal for this online promotion is to increase brand awareness and popularity of Abba-Zaba to current and new consumers in a fun, memorable and impactful way.”

Fans will be able to participate in the dance contest on two levels. One, they can enter the contest by submitting their new dance move. And two, they can also vote, view, share, like and tweet for their favorite Abba-Zaba dance video. At the end of the contest, the top three submissions with the most votes will win cash and prizes from Abba-Zaba, vitaminwater, Skullcandy and Puma. Prize packages will be awarded for first, second and third place winners with the grand prize winner crowned as the official new dance, “the Abba-Zaba.”

Annabelle Candy Company collaborated with Los Angeles-based marketing agency, RAINDEO BEAUTIFUL, to champion this upcoming Abba-Zaba online promotion.
