Dolly Drive, the award-winning online storage for Apple’s Time Machine backup software, announces the official launch of its latest version this Thursday incorporating Time Machine's recent upgrades for Mac OS X Lion - local snapshots, combined timeline, upload time status bar, user interface and overall speed & stability. Additionally, clients who use Dolly Drive as a NAS replacement have avoided the interruptions local NAS solutions have faced with Lion. Dolly's NAS replacement is also officially available Thursday.

Dolly Drive has performed so perfectly with Lion that we had to make it easily available for all Mac users.

Cloud-services provider Cirrus Thinking reported it's official launch of the Lion version of Dolly Drive online backup this Thursday. Interest in the online backup for Mac service has nearly tripled since Apple's launch of Lion last week. Lion features available in Dolly Drive include Time Machine’s offline local snapshots, combined timeline, upload time status bar, user interface and overall speed & stability. Both new users and current subscribers have seen easy moves to the Lion OS.

Additionally, clients who use Dolly Drive as a NAS replacement have avoided the interruptions that local NAS solutions have been experiencing when installing Lion. Upgrades for those customers will also be officially released Thursday.

“The upgrades to Time Machine in Lion are incredibly exciting and the Dolly Drive development team has seen success for our new and current users using them since day one” said Anthony Palermo, Dolly Drive CEO. “We continued our beta program through the first week since Lion launched to avoid some of the challenges other backup providers were facing. But Dolly Drive has performed so perfectly with Lion that we had to make it easily available for all Mac users”.

Dolly Drive is a subscription software and online storage service designed for Apple’s Time Machine. In addition to providing Mac users offsite cloud storage directly through the Time Machine application, the application allows users to create a bootable clone of their Mac on an external hard drive for local disaster recovery. A free standalone version of Dolly Clone is available at http://www.dollydrive.com. Launched in January, Dolly Drive was named MacLife magazine’s best of show and best software at MacWorld 2011.
