Central New York (CNY) Dialysis has entered into a transaction with DaVita Inc., a leading provider of kidney care services for those diagnosed with end stage renal disease (ESRD) and chronic kidney disease (CKD), to provide consulting and administrative services at the clinic.

“We are pleased about our new affiliation with DaVita, as they share our views regarding patient care and oversight of their dialysis programs,” said Dorothy Schneider, President of CNY Dialysis. Schneider added, “DaVita provides the same high quality of care that CNY Dialysis has provided for the past eleven years. We believe our affiliation with a large national dialysis firm like DaVita will allow CNY Dialysis to continue to provide the same high quality care we have provided, despite the likely changes coming from the new regulatory environment.”

“We are excited to affiliate with CNY Dialysis and continue to provide the high quality care patients have been used to for many years,” said Jim Greenwood, divisional vice president of DaVita. “We look forward to serving the Syracuse community together for many years to come.”

CNY Dialysis was formed eleven years ago to provide high quality, in-center dialysis, peritoneal dialysis, home hemodialysis, and acute dialysis service. It serves approximately 218 patients per month and operates with its employee base of approximately 55 people from its licensed facility at 910 Erie Boulevard East in Syracuse. It serves the needs of patients with end stage renal disease.

Dr. Adebowale Oguntola, facility medical director and Dr. Philip Ondocin, associate medical director, will continue in those same roles in the new arrangement with DaVita. All nephrologists who currently have privileges at CNY Dialysis will also continue under the new arrangement.

CNY Dialysis was represented in this transaction by Lowell Seifter, Esq. and Jason Centolella, Esq. of Green & Seifter, Attorneys, PLLC.

DaVita currently has 37clinics in New York State providing quality care to kidney patients in the state.
