Intelligent Decisions (ID), Inc., a premier global IT systems integrator, announced today the company will serve as one of the key sponsors supporting the "2011 Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) Pelican Chapter’s Scholarship Golf Tournament." The 26th annual tournament will raise funds for multiple scholarship recipients studying science field technology. The tournament will take place at MacDill Air Force Base Bay Palms South Course on August 21 in Tampa.
Specifically, the Tampa-St. Petersburg AFCEA Pelican Chapter provides upwards of $100,000 in educational outreach scholarships and grants annually to U.S. military enlisted personnel in the local community, Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) cadets, high school seniors, college students, graduate students, and students at technical or vocational institutions.
“This will be a great tournament, a competitive event for those who can swing a club, and a unique opportunity to support our local scholarship program,” said Colonel James Turner, Pelican Chapter president.
The Pelican Chapter has a long-standing tradition of supporting the advancement of excellence in technology, professionalism, and education as they relate to the vital areas of command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, electronics, audiovisual and information systems.

AFCEA International is a professional association chartered in Washington, DC, as an educationally-oriented, non-profit, technical society.
