ACC Medlink, a leader in next-generation of medical transportation services, showcased their new Medical Transportation vehicle in Fort Myers and Naples, Florida this week. ACC Medlink has received the first of a fleet of medical transport vehicles with the addition units due to be delivered next month. ACC Medlink's order will include Ford Motor Company’s new transport van the Transit Connect which is the most modern and fuel efficient D.O.T and A.D.A approved medical transport vehicles.
ACC Medlink's parent company, Air Critical Care LLC. is an accredited air medical transport service based in southwest Florida with offices throughout Florida and several states including air ambulance in Michigan, New York, North Carolina, and Arizona. Air Critical Care provides worldwide air ambulance service transporting patients long distances in medically configured jet aircraft equipped as flying intensive care units.
During the demonstration of the vehicles Mr. Michael Peat outlined the fleets expansion and flexibility that includes a wide variety of vehicles that can accommodate most all customers. Included in this demonstration was specialized vehicles designed to transport bariatric customers and several vehicles that can transport both wheelchair and stretcher customers.
ACC Medlink's primary mission is to provide non-emergency long distance medical transportation nationwide and in the local service areas transporting all customers with special needs any distance. In some cases it from hospital to home in others it’s to a doctor appointment. Long distance medical transportation can be expensive and many customers struggle with the cost of the more expensive air medical transportation. ACC Medlink's ground services provide a cost effective alternative. According to Mr. Peat, “A majority of air medical customers require no medical services but are unable to be transported by a commercial airline or require just personal assistance.” ACC Medlink's long distance medical transportation service will offer families a cost effective option approximately half the cost of an Air Medical flight.
ACC Medlink is currently in negotiations with Mobility Works for the 2012 fleet purchases.
