Brett Hodus, president - Book Buddy Digital Media, Inc. said, “It’s really quite stimulating talking to publishers when they’re excited about creating their own program in a format that already has unprecedented positive impact. Truly, it feels like a rebirth of interest in academic results, not just profits. Even in our collaborations, as we discuss focus and title selections, there is intense interest in our potential impact on young people. This is a refreshing departure from the commoditization of educational material and signifies a new era of real engagement by our channel partners. We have the opportunity to do new things with established publishers and help them utilize technology to make a difference, not a distraction. “
Book Buddy Digital Media, Inc. has developed the GoReader™ audio device – designed to play the audio version of books while a striving student reads the printed book. The Hear and Read instruction is self-guided on the durable technology known as GoReader™. A struggling reader can pause, back-up or pick-up at a spot where the device automatically book marks with a simple press of one or two buttons.
“We’re fortunate to be a technology company and publisher’s services company. Our unique sets of technical skills, our relationships with major publishers and our diverse team of successful entrepreneurs keeps our procedural meetings short and our creative meetings a most exciting collaboration,” said, Vincent Caminiti, chief operating officer. He added, “This is where technology is a means to an end – our focus is literacy and our target is those that have become distanced from the essential habit of reading. Without reading proficiency, there is no higher education – period. We get to go to work every day to a business that has the company slogan – A second chance to fall in love with reading. It’s a mission.”
The company plans to expand its number of channel partner and title lists considerably in the coming year with additional focuses on English Language Learners and English Second Language programs in addition to struggling readers programs. The GoReader™ device is now featured in Educational Publishers catalogs around the US.
