The founders of Total Integrated Mobile were frustrated with the condition of the iTunes Appstore. The best apps don't always make it to the iTunes top 50. The iTunes top lists are fueled by quantity and not necessarily quality. Traditionally, there have been two ways for an app to hit it big:

  • Get lucky by being featured by Apple
  • Spend thousands on advertising to push your app into the top 50

The team at AppMadness.net knew there had to be another way; a way that is more democratic. The tournament was created so that iPhone games could be evaluated based on their quality instead of the size of their marketing budgets. Now an iPhone game can win its way to the top by going head to head with other great apps in a 64 app tournament. In the AppMadness.net tournament, gamers make the decision of who wins by voting for their favorites. Only the best will make it to the later rounds.

By putting the decision in the hands of real gamers, the winner will earn bragging rights, fame and glory. Through this tournament, gamers can actually decide what will be the next hot game.

The developers of the winning app each month will be featured in a press release, be posted on the Champions page, and don the badge of AppMadness Tournament Champion.

The contest will run through August with voting opening today. For more details, or to cast your ballot, visit http://www.appmadness.net.
