Richard Wilson, former executive at Dell, Efficient Networks and Networth, joins growing Affinegy team as Vice President of Sales

Affinegy, provider of intelligent home networking software solutions, today announced the appointment of Richard Wilson as Vice President of Sales. In this position, Wilson is responsible for worldwide sales, channel relationships and business development.

Wilson has a strong track record in building and leading direct sales teams and channel partner organizations through periods of substantial growth. As one of the founders of Dell’s Advanced Systems Group, he grew sales from $343M to $4.3B in just four years. His sales leadership at Efficient Networks and Networth propelled both companies to highly successful IPOs and the sale of Efficient to Siemens.

“We are very excited to have someone of Richard's caliber to lead our sales and business development initiatives through our next stages of growth,” said Melissa Simpler, co-founder and CEO of Affinegy. “Richard’s extensive experience and proven success establishing new markets and building outstanding sales organizations is the perfect match for Affinegy as we continue to expand our product portfolio, presence in new markets, and broaden our partner relationships.”

Broadband service providers, premium care providers and consumer equipment vendors employ Affinegy’s software solutions - Home Portal and Care Portal. The software helps them engage and energize their customers, control service and support costs and generate new revenue streams.

The Home Portal simplifies and heightens the connected life experience by securely and easily discovering, configuring, connecting and managing the wireless home network, all its components and content.

The Care Portal is a remote service and analytics solution used in the customer care center and business office. The Care Portal provides status and issues reporting for devices and services connected within a home. Its real time reporting and event logging provide invaluable intelligence into customers’ networks to quickly resolve support issues and better target and upsell new service offerings.

“Now more than ever, our customers need help managing the evolving and fast growing connected life landscape," said Richard Wilson. “Affinegy has continually demonstrated innovation and thought leadership in its solutions. I’m excited about bringing these solutions to new and existing customers and markets while contributing to the growth and success of the company.“
