InfoBarrel Celebrates Third Birthday with Record Traffic

Share Article, one of the world’s largest cloud sourced content sites celebrates three years of business

On July 31, 2011,, one of the world’s largest cloud sourced content sites celebrated three years of online presence.

On July 31, 2008 opened its doors to the public, allowing writers the opportunity to publish their content and receive payment through InfoBarrel’s proprietary revenue share system.

Now just three years later, the InfoBarrel writer’s community has grown to 61,000 members, who have published over 73,000 articles; this translates to over 43,000,000 words (26+ encyclopedias). The site continues to grow month over month and continues to break traffic records consistently.

Another milestone accomplished over the last three years was the ability to raise money for charities. InfoBarrel for Charities launched May 2010 and has since raised close to $1800 for Huntington Disease. Plans for the future include partnerships with other charities, giving writers the option to donate their content to the charity of their choice.

In a conversation with co-founder Ryan McKenzie he said “The last three years have been an amazing ride watching both the site and our users grow and excel. We have tons of success stories ranging from writers securing an extra $100 a month to well over $1000.    It is nice to know that we’ve been able to help writers of all walks make extra money writing. Everybody deserves to be heard, and compensated for their knowledge.”

“One of the things that has allowed InfoBarrel to succeed in this market is that we enforce high quality standards. We have an editorial team that verifies that the content being posted has value to the reader and isn’t being posted to try and spam our system. On top of this we’ve also implemented a number of tools that help identify inappropriate content, so problems stop before they even begin” said co-founder Kevin Hinton.

About was launched in July 2008 and has since grown to become one of the largest communities where writers can do what they do best; write. Not only do writers get exposure for their writings on Infobarrel, they also receive a generous revenue share.
