San Jose, CA (PRWEB) August 06, 2011

Not always noticed for community contributions, various medical marijuana co-ops give back in public service to their neighborhoods, and HPMI is no exception. As San Jose’s first collective, HPMI has been there from the beginning - working with the community, with hospice care, blood drives and park beautification, all made possible through dedicated volunteers.

“It’s not enough for me to help people in need medically,” said Van Hovey, founder of HPMI. “My goal has always been to work with people who care about humanity and expand on that basic concept by giving back through volunteering.”

Currently, HPMI is the only collective sponsoring the Music in the Park Series downtown and they have many upcoming projects. Always looking for like-minded people to help out, Hovey said interested persons can call (408) 280-7551 or stop by and get matched up with one of the various HPMI projects.
