Private investment platform CapLinked launches new capital raising tool for Microsoft BizSpark startups. Makes it easy to put deals in front of angel groups and VCs at once. "Who says financial software can't be sexy?"

CapLinked--the online platform for private investment funded by members of the "PayPal Mafia"--announced today that it is teaming up with Microsoft BizSpark to launch Deal Rocket, a revolutionary new tool for raising capital. Startups enrolled in the Microsoft BizSpark program will have exclusive access to the new feature, which will allow them to submit their deal room to dozens of angel groups and early stage venture capital funds around the country.

CapLinked gives private companies, investors, and their advisors free tools to manage a capital raise or asset sale, network, and exchange updates. Microsoft BizSpark is a global program that helps software startups succeed by giving them access to Microsoft software development tools, connecting them with the key industry players, including investors, and providing marketing visibility to help entrepreneurs starting a business.

Companies can create secure, viral deal rooms on CapLinked to manage their capital raise or asset sale. The deals can then be shared with prospective investors and advisors, who can then invite others to view the deal. Deal Rocket takes it a step further by allowing the company to submit their deal to over 100 angel groups and venture capitalists for review.

"We are excited to be working with Microsoft to offer Deal Rocket to Bizspark companies," said CapLinked CEO Eric Jackson, who previously ran the marketing team at PayPal. "BizsSpark helps startups get access to great technology for free. Now those startups will be able to use CapLinked to get access capital."

"Microsoft is pleased to be offering CapLinked's Deal Rocket to our community of BizSpark Startups," says Claire Lee, Head of Industry Partnerships, Emerging Business Team at Microsoft in Silicon Valley. "We know how important access to capital is for early stage companies. Deal Rocket makes it easier for startups to share their capital raises with multiple early-stage investors at once. Since CapLinked is an open platform, they will also be able to invite prospective investors they meet through other channels to view the same deal."

Founded in 2010 by Jackson and Christopher Grey, CapLinked launched to the public last fall and has grown by 2,000% since January. Over 55,000 individuals and 6,000 companies are using the site to manage the private investing process and share $5 billion worth of deals. Financial backers of the company include Peter Thiel (co-founder of PayPal), Dave McClure (500 Startups), Joe Lonsdale (co-founder of Palantir Technologies), Aman Verjee (CFO of Sonos), and David Anderson (7th Rig).

"Costly enterprise subscriptions and clunky virtual deal rooms have plagued the investing world for too long," notes Jackson, who oversaw PayPal's US marketing before the company was acquired by eBay. "CapLinked makes private investing easy, social, and secure. Who says financial software can't be sexy?"

Deal Rocket is currently available only to BizSpark startups, and will be available to other CapLinked users in the future.
