Rift Tax refunds offers advice on how to Claim 5 or 6 years worth of travel expenses, Most construction workers are owed money and don't even know it. They could claim as much as £1,200 worth of travel mileage.
According to riftuk.com, in the last few years the inland revenue has paid out millions of pounds to construction workers for travel expense claims going back up to six years.
But soon that is all set to change and anyone who may still be entitled to a claim over that period may lose out.
Considering that the average annual claim that a construction worker can claim is £600 – that will be £1,200 that is no longer going to be available to construction workers who want to claim mileage allowance.
The new system will work like this
•Currently claims are being considered for tax years 2003/04, 2004/05, 2005/06, 2006/07, 2007/08 and 2008/09.
•From 31 January 2010 claims will only be considered for five tax years 2004/05, 2005/06, 2006/07, 2007/08 and 2008/09.
•From 6 April 2010 claims will only be considered for four tax years: 2006/07, 2007/08, 2008/09 and 2009/10.
