Office Depot Engages Customers with First-of-its-Kind Mobile Back-to-School Promotion Created by Momentum Worldwide and Using SpyderLynk SnapTags

Momentum developed the integrated marketing campaign for Office Depot to connect with shoppers during the important back-to-school season. Momentum partnered with SpyderLynk to deploy their innovative SnapTag technology so that customers can interact with Office Depot on their mobile phones to win instant mobile gift cards to spend while shopping for back-to-school supplies.

Campaign Details

  •     The campaign, which runs from July 24, 2011 through September 11, 2011, will award 100, $100 gift cards each day during the campaign, totaling $500,000 in prizes during the promotional period.
  •     To participate, Office Depot customers snap and send a picture of the SnapTag, featured on in-store displays, with a standard mobile camera phone to find out if they’ve won a $100 Office Depot mobile gift card, which is redeemable instantly in-store. Winners will then take their mobile phones to the check out to redeem their prize. For a limited time, participants will also receive special mobile coupons to save on a variety of back-to-school essentials.
  •     No special phones are required – just a standard mobile camera phone – no scanning required like most QR code solutions. No special apps to download. Simply snap and send! (For iPhone and Android users who like scanning, SpyderLynk offers a free app to scan SnapTags.)
