Ashford Publishing is delighted to announce that Claire Power Murphy, author and director of the Self-Rejuvenation Center, Inc., will be holding a multi-show series called “The Claire Power Murphy Show”, here on Ashford Radio with one of our renowned hosts. The series is set to launch August 15th, 2011 at 4pm EST. Ashford Publishing speaks with executives, professionals and leaders of industry in order to share their wealth of knowledge with others.
Claire Power Murphy established the Self-Rejuvenation Center with a mission "to offer hope to a lost and dying world." Claire guides her clients towards self-rejuvenation and restoration of body, mind and spirit, guiding them towards a life, “living within the laws of nature.”
She was prompted to pursue her professional endeavors as she and her children grappled with health issues from an early age. At one point in her own life, she was given three days to live. After adopting natural and holistic remedies, she went on to survive her ‘three days,’ and was inspired to write her award winning book, “Preserved to Serve.”
In it, she discusses the plights of both her children; how she was able to improve their health and give them a better quality of life, through the power of natural living. She tells the tale of how her low birth-weight daughter, who was confined to the hospital by the state, due to showing signs of cerebral palsy, went on to graduate from LaGuardia Music, Art and Performing Arts High School, with scholarships in Engineering and Physics. Claire credits her application of a holistic lifestyle to the measurable growth made year after year by her daughter.
She has a Bachelors’ degree in history, with minors in elementary education and psychology, and a Master’s degree in elementary education from Hunter College. From there, she earned a certification in advanced administration through Richmond College, and went on to be an educator in the NYC public school system for 34 years. During this period, she developed a program entitled, "Expanding Horizons" which she shared with her advanced learner third grade class. Soon, the program was initiated by all third grade teachers on Staten Island. "Expanding Horizons" won a monetary grant from The American Cancer Society, and was showcased at the NYC Greater Metropolitan Social Studies Conference and The Middle Atlantic States Social Studies Conference.
Claire is also affiliated with The American Federation of Teachers, The United Federation of Teachers (NYC), AARP and is a distinguished member of the Chairman's Circle of the Oxford Club and the Sovereign Society.
