“NYC Apple Day is a great way to pay homage to our past history of the Lower East Side being an apple orchard while at the same time creating a fun, free event for people of all ages to enjoy,” said Mark Miller, president of the Lower East side Business Improvement District. “My hope is to provide a great event for our community while at the same time attracting new people to discover our unique neighborhood that is hip, happening, and historic.”
Todd “The Hungry Genius” Greenwald, chairman of All Pro Eating Promotions, commented, “I cannot think of a better location or a more suitable event than Apple Day where a new National Apple Pie Eating Champion will receive the honors presented to them. After the pie crust settles in The Big Apple on September 18th, and the new National Apple Pie eating record is announced, the Lower East Side of New York will loudly proclaim that this neighborhood has always been as American as apple pie and that this historic location should be the apple of every American’s eye!”
All Pro Eating Promotions will be featuring several Professional Competitive Eaters including Virginia resident “Munchin” Mike Longo who holds Competitive Eating titles in hamburgers, pizza, chicken wings, meatballs and latkes in addition to Patrick "The Viper" Viviano who has numerous records and titles. The contest is open for registration and anyone who is interested in participating - both Professionals and Amateurs can find more information on the All Pro Eating Promotions website or by contacting Todd Greenwald via email (Commissioner(at)TheNCCEA(dot)com).
