London (PRWEB) August 16, 2011

SkyDox, a leading provider of cloud-enabled solutions for file sharing and document collaboration applications, has today announced the release of a unique set of enhancements for Microsoft SharePoint.

The SkyDox Microsoft SharePoint enhancements address key challenges that can reduce uptake and success rates for companies that have implemented Microsoft SharePoint or are considering a deployment of Microsoft Office 365.

The combined solution improves the ability of users to review and provide feedback, collaborate with external and internal teams, deliver and present documents and track document access and exposure from any PC, laptop or mobile device with a standard web browser.

SkyDox simplifies team collaboration within an organization and for partners and clients by making it easy to upload new documents, invite participants and fully track user activity at a page level. The intuitive user interface avoids the need for training users, which can make ad hoc collaborations difficult.

The SkyDox enhancements ensure that activity around a document remains attached to the document and annotations are version specific increasing relevance and decreases the volume of files associated with multiple versions. Files can also be kept in multiple folders without making copies of the file and any changes made are notified to collaboration team members instantly.

Barrie Hadfield, SkyDox Chief Technology Officer, said: “Across the world SharePoint is the leading Enterprise Content Management platform for managing document collections and team workspaces. However, some requirements for external file-sharing and document-centric collaborations exceed the core Microsoft capabilities. SkyDox addresses these by significantly extending a SharePoint-based teams ability to review, feedback and collaborate on files and business documents.”

“And, unlike other file sharing or collaboration products that compete with SharePoint, SkyDox was designed so that it can seamlessly integrate with this and other Microsoft business platforms.”

Mat Allen, Business Development Director for the leading SharePoint consultancy Content and Code, said: “The ability to work on documents in real time and to track changes as they come in, while avoiding time wasting revisions and duplication of effort, is vital.

“SkyDox has a unique approach to collaboration and file sharing, and the seamless integration of SkyDox tools into SharePoint has been greeted enthusiastically by our clients and we believe that SkyDox will help them improve team productivity and reduce project delivery timelines.”
The SkyDox cloud-enabled collaboration platform can be used on its own or seamlessly integrated into Microsoft SharePoint. It has been designed to deliver real business value for organizations that build value through team-based collaboration such as in the Media, Advertising, Communication, Management Consulting, Telecommunications and Enterprise sectors.”
