Sound Seal Acoustic Panels Help To Control Sound At The Amway Center in Orlando Florida

Orlando, Florida: Sound Seal provided the architectural firm, Populous of Kansas City, the reflection and reverberation control that was required in the Amway Center--the new home of the Orlando Magic--where 19,000 screaming fans will be cheering on Dwight Howard.

Included in this project were approximately 330 custom-stained highly figured Anigre veneer WoodTrends Topline PS panels. Affixed to all the short walls in the desirable Loge seating areas of the arena, these panels will quiet the din associated with a typical NBA basketball game. They also lessen the harsh reflections associated with painted drywall during musical performances and any other of the myriad uses for this vast space.

As the building neared completion, more acoustical control was necessary. Again turning to Sound Seal, the team at Populous worked out a design that would place custom S-2000 fabric wrapped panels on much of the empty wall space in the performance area.

Adding to the challenge was the fact that the legendary rock band The Eagles would be kicking off a world-wide tour in the arena, performing just days after the date of substantial completion. Working closely with the installing contractor, KenPat, LLC of Orlando, Sound Seal was able to provide over 540 custom-sized acoustical wall panels in time for the show.
