Customers of Lloyds TSB in Eastville are to enjoy the benefits of a new customer focused initiative from the Bank which will see their local branch opening on a Saturday. Whether customers need to manage their current account, top up their savings or simply speak to a member of staff face-to-face, they'll have an extra day each week to get things sorted. The move is part of the ‘Convenient Branches’ programme which was recently launched in the Bristol and South Midlands region.
As well as opening on a Saturday from 10am to 3pm, the branch will also close half an hour later each week day at 5pm, meaning that the branch will now stay open for an additional 8.5 hours per week. As a bank committed to the highest levels of customer service, Lloyds TSB is responding to changes in customer attitudes and behaviours. Accordingly, the Bank is meeting those customer needs head-on so where customers have indicated that opening hours are not always convenient for them, branches are opening for longer and later. Across more than 100 Lloyds TSB branches throughout the region, customers are now able to benefit from a total of 520 extra opening hours per week – perfect for those who have previously struggled to find time to make it into their local branch to make a deposit into their savings account or manage their current account.
As part of the initiative, Lloyds TSB is also coming up with new ways of addressing customer concerns around queuing in branches. As well as more staff training to manage queues more effectively, the Bank is promising customers that it will ensure that the right people are in the right place at the right time to ensure customers in the queue are served promptly. To this end, the Bank has been recruiting for more customer service staff for branches and around 80 new members of staff have been recruited to date across the region. Customers using Eastville branch, for instance, will benefit from three of these additional members of staff.
Announcing the launch, Sara Lilly, Lloyds TSB Local Director, said: “This move is all about responding to customers’ needs and so in Eastville, they will see their branch open more when they need it, will experience less queuing at the busiest times and will see more staff in branch who can help them with all their banking needs. We’re providing convenience and accessibility and giving our customers a high quality branch service.”
