Since this meeting the decommissioning industry in the Asia Pacific has boomed with over a Billion Dollars being spent on new projects over the past year. This has included projects across Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia, Australia, China, Thailand, Singapore, India and Japan according to sources at DecomWorld.

Due to this ‘boom’ in the industry, contractors from across the globe have flocked to the region in order to take advantage of the lucrative new contracts available to service providers that have the expertise to execute this complex work. This has included the Sea Trucks Group removing PTTEP’s West Atlas rig, Sapura Acergy decommissioning the Iwaki Platform and CUT executing over 85 offshore projects including North Pepper and South Herald in Australia.

Now, new projects being announced by PETRONAS in Malaysia and PTTEP on Australia’s Montara field will make 2012 and even bigger year for decommissioning in the Asia Pacific, which meant Billion Dollar opportunities for contractors and service providers who are looking to take advantage of this huge new market.

Because of this massive upturn in the market DecomWorld have bought all of the region’s decision makers to participate in the 3rd Annual Offshore Decommissioning Conference which will take place in Singapore on the 27-28 October. This is the Asia Pacific’s only dedicated decommissioning meeting and if you are looking to take your share of this huge new market or meet solution providers who can deliver your projects on time and on budget, this is the only place to do so.

BP, PTTEP, Shell and many more will share experience, detail future project time lines and source suppliers throughout the two day meeting.
