Based on our unique call schedule, we are able to see patients quickly, and if something is urgent, we can likely see you that day.

Dublin Methodist Hospital is proud to welcome two new OB/GYN physicians, Dr. Joanna Buell and Dr. Camille Taylor, of Professionals for Women’s Health, to the OhioHealth hospital family.

At the physician’s primary practice, Professionals for Women’s Health, they specialize in preconception counseling, annual exams, contraception, low and high risk pregnancies, menopause transition, office procedures for sterilization and complete gynecological care for all lifestyles.

“I listen to patients and involve them in the treatment plan, maintaining a compassionate, non-judgmental atmosphere,” Dr. Buell said. “Based on our unique call schedule, we are able to see patients quickly, and if something is urgent, we can likely see you that day.”

Another convenient feature of their practice is an online system to allow electronic messaging between doctor and patient. This online patient portal, where patients can schedule appointments, view lab results and send messages to providers, keeps the patient up to date on results. The doctors emphasize the importance of using these tools to keep the office organized and efficient and to keep patients actively aware of their treatment plan and options.

“It is so important to establish a relationship with patients and their families,” Dr. Taylor said. “This relationship, combined with careful discussion of all possible treatment options, allows women to make the best informed health care decisions for their unique needs.”

Attentive to patients’ needs, Professionals for Women’s Health has three locations and offers evening hours to accommodate busy schedules. The practice also has several in-office services, including urodynamic testing, lactation consulting and sterilization procedures.

Dr. Taylor said the practice differs from other women’s health care facilities because they have a wide variety of patient care providers in the office, including nurse practitioners and nurse midwives. Each type of caregiver can provide a different perspective on patient care, which allows patients more health care options and the ability to choose the provider that is best for them.

“We always tell our patients the best time to see us is when you’re not sick,” Dr. Buell said. “It’s important for women to make time for themselves and perform health maintenance when they’re healthy. Not only does this prevent problems, but also helps establish a relationship with your physician.”

Doctors Buell and Taylor are enthusiastic about working at Dublin Methodist Hospital, largely because of the environment.

“Dublin Methodist Hospital is designed to not feel like a hospital,” Dr. Buell said. “Childbirth is different because you’re not sick, and you don’t want to go to a cold, sterile hospital. DMH is warm and inviting, with carpet and soft lighting, so mothers feel comfortable. Working at this hospital will be an ideal fit for Dr. Taylor and me.”

Dr. Taylor graduated from medical school at The Ohio State University, and completed her residency at the University of Chicago Hospitals. Dr. Buell has her medical degree from the University of Alabama – Birmingham. Her residency was completed at The Ohio State University.
